Journey log from Lori Cohen

The 17 days I was in Ngugo were very eventful. In those days, the group of trainers of the "Growing Together" project did their very valuable work: play therapy with the youngest children of Happy Home; training work with teachers, and observation of classroom dynamics in various schools.

At the same time, my colleague Ida Manzi and I have established relationships with the children financially supported by Italians and their families, and we have got Happy Home ready for the imminent arrival of the container with clothes, toys, bicycles, books and many other things for the children.

In addition, the Happy Home Library, the children's library, has been restored, giving the management to a group of girls between 15-17 years old. It is hoped that the library will grow, with the donation of books in English, and that it will become a quiet place where children can borrow books to consult or read there. All with the aim of encouraging reading from an early age and broadening the reader's horizons.
