Growing together

The "Growing Together" Project provides for the carrying out of a training program for teachers working in kindergartens in the village of Ngugo-Ikeduru, with the aim of improving their skills and didactic methodology to encourage their students to start a process of positive change

Timing: 

The project has a duration of 12 months and is implemented through 4 periodic interventions lasting 15 days each.

Beneficiaries of the Project:

The beneficiaries of the project are children attending kindergartens and their teachers. Indirectly, the children's families and the institutions where the teachers work will also benefit from the project.

Objectives:  

The overall aim of the project is to promote healthy development and optimal growth in the children of the village. Specifically, it is intended to stimulate the reducing of individual difficulties and the development of new skills in children. The project is aimed at determining the formation of a more competent and fulfilling teaching class.

Programme:

The programme provides for the training of teachers in the psycho-educational sector and in the performance of specific psychosocial activities. To support the application of these skills, teachers will be periodically supported in their activities by the psychologist trainer. settore psicoeducativo e nello svolgimento di specifiche attività psicosociali. Methodology:

Non-directive Play Therapy has been identified as a reference in the training sessions. The repertoire of psychosocial activities included in the Project are largely extracted from the "three-year planning" document produced by the Mario Pagano Comprehensive Institute.

Activity:

Included in the activities planned:

• Classroom training in Non-Directive Play Therapy, Developmental Psychology and Psychosocial Activities.

• Shared group activities.

• Activity monitoring.

Human resources:

N° 1 expatriate psychologist trainer;

N° 1 expatriate logistic-administrative coordinator,

N° 1 local coordinator.

Realization of the project by S.O.Solidarietà and Associazione per la Play Terapia Italia -Psycho Social Projects.

In May 2017 the project started again for a further 2 years.
