Sport as a Universal Language

Nigeria
Education/Training

The project has as its general objective the promotion and dissemination of recreational-sports activities in places where well-being can be assumed as represented by the satisfaction of only basic needs (hunger and thirst) and is aimed at children between the ages of 6 and 15 to protect their health, considering the concept of health no longer as the absence of disease, but as personal well-being and psychophysical balance in relation to the context in which they live and to help them overcome the barriers of isolation.

In July 2016, the feasibility study was carried out with the presence on the Nigerian territory of the volunteer Rossella Ferrara, teacher of Gymnastics and Sports Sciences, who in this period has trained 20 young adults in various sports, some of these young people will have the role of coaches in the project.

In questo periodo ha formato 20 giovani adulti sportivi, alcuni dei quali saranno i nuovi coach del progetto.

THE LONG-TERM PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT:

To involve a number of young people within a circuit that can enable them to leave their niche of myopia or comfort zone and venture into the world. In other words, globalisation as an education for peaceful coexistence through respect for diversity as a resource.

Humanitarian intervention for the harmonious psycho-physical development of children who for now only manage to satisfy their basic needs.
