Agriculture/Green defense

Starting from the small project "Social Gardens in Nigeria", from the validity of the non-formal learning by doing, the hands on method, the larger agricultural project: RURAL COMMUNITY AGRO ENTERPRISE PROJECT was created.

The goal of the project is to reduce hunger and malnutrition.

Dedicated to unemployed women and young people, the project also aims to reduce domestic violence stemming from poverty, gender gaps and unemployment.

Through the sowing of uncultivated land and the breeding of farmyard animals, the project helps to reduce malnutrition and stave off hunger.

Implemented in the territory of Mbise, the project involves several villages, and aims to create cooperatives among farmers, to provide food safety, to increase female employment and that of young people and to acquire agricultural knowhow.

The Nigerian partner is Flep Club, the Italian one is Lega Ambiente Campania.

At the end of 2019, the agricultural project was also completed with the achievement of the objectives set. To create a cooperative community in the district of Mbaise promoting the ability to grow enough good food for its members.

The model farm has distributed farmyard animals, plants and seeds to 100 women chickens, rabbits and snails, plants and seeds) in order to start a path of self-sufficiency, verifiable year by year.
